Barada was born on Cait in 2344. His father an administrator and mother
a teacher, he traveled much during his early years. At the age of 17 he
entered and won the Amber Competition, gaining early admission into Starfleet
Academy. At the Academy, he quickly showed resourcefulness and leadership
ability. Notably, he led the academy sunjamming team to 3 consecutive Federation
championships. Barada graduated the academy in the 97th Percentile and
was a junior cadet commander.
Barada’s first taste of battle came in the "Battle of Wolf 359." His brave attempts to save injured and dying crewmen won him a commendation from his superiors. In 2368, Barada disobeyed orders and beamed aboard the crippled USS Cairo to repair her computer systems. He was able to keep the ship from falling into a black hole. Though reprimanded by his commanding officer, Captain Edward Jellico, of the Cairo, asked him to become his science officer. Barada accepted. It was during his service aboard the Cairo that Barada met his future wife, Alexandra. After 4 years of exemplary service, Captain Jellico recommended Barada for a slot in Advanced Tactical School. He was wed to Alexandra before leaving. Graduating 1st in his class with specialties in marine command and control operations, he requested a ground duty assignment. He was assigned to the space marines branch of the Special Forces Command: taking command of the 81st Tactical Group. In 2372, Alexandra gave birth to twins, a boy named Klatuu III, and a girl named Jerise. Barada was assigned to the Staff of Admiral Necheyev. And quickly put his tactical training to use. Part of his duties included leading raids on several Maquis outposts. Other missions are still classified. In 2373 the Dominion War broke out and Barada was again, needed in the field. He was assigned to the USS Thunderchild as strategic operations officer. He served with distinction during the "Battle of Sector 001", against the Borg and "Operation Return." Notably, he took command of the Thunderchild during a battle against a Dominion task force, when the captain and first officer were incapacitated. He was able to lead a boarding party and capture the Jem’Hadar cruiser. After returning from this mission, he learned that the attack had been a decoy. And that the real target had been Starbase 303, home port of the Thunderchild. The base was destroyed and most hands aboard killed, including Barada’s wife and children. Barada requested transfer to a frontline unit. But was denied. Instead, he was reassigned to SFSFCOM. Again, taking command of the 81st. In late 2374 , Starfleet Intelligence discovered information that the Dominion was building an artificial wormhole in the Bajor Sector. Barada was assigned to lead the squad to destroy it. Barada was awarded the Star Cross for his actions. Relinquised command of the 81st MAG after promotion to colonel, and assignment as commander of special forces. However, retains overall authority over the unit as special forces chief. Helped put down plot by Starfleet traitors in the Delta Quadrant. Currently assigned command of the Rapid Response Team Wing stationed at Starbase Mithras. His mobile headquarters is the Steanrunner Class USS Wanderer. |
