| Background:
Chyamthi Ropa is a career Starfleet non-commissioned officer. Highly experienced, she is in her seventh tour in Starfleet. Ropa has always had a fascination for starships, and it was that interest that led her to sign on. She began her training in warp propulsion theory, after finishing basic enlisted training. And she has never looked back. Holding several advanced degrees in engineering sciences and management, she has turned down numerous offers to the Academy. The chief is not interested in command. She prefers to do the "real work" of Starfleet, training the enlisted force and honing them to peak efficiency. And she much prefers the "hands-on" side of engineering. Chief Ropa is an excellent teacher, technician, leader and organizer. Her twenty years in Starfleet have given her a broad range of skills, making an asset to any department and any ship. She has attended
the SI short course and is qualified to do field work, but her primary
area of expertise is as an engineering analyst, technician, and field equipment
specialist. Ropa is also an expert in Cloaking Device technology.
She was on the team assigned to study the Romulan ship technology taken
from the Delta Quadrant.
